Soori starts dubbing for Mugen Rao-starrer Velan

It was reported earlier that Soori will be playing an ardetnt fan of Mammootty in Velan, directed by Kavin. The shooting of the movie, which has Mugen Rao and Meenakshi (Kennedy Club fame) playing lead roles, was wrapped up recently. Kavin had earlier said that Soori essays the role of a Mammootty fan and his character’s name is Mammookka Dineshan. Soori will be seen as Thambi Ramaiah’s brother-in-law in the film; the latter plays a Malayali in the film. The story, according to Kavin, happens in and around Pollachi and Palakkad and there are a several Malayalam and Tamil references in the movie. On Tuesday, Soori took to Twitter to say that he has commenced dubbing for the film and posted a couple of photos from the dubbing session. One of the photos he had posted had him posing for a picture along with Kavin.

He tweeted, “வேலன் திரைப்படத்தின் வசன பதிவின்போது இயக்குனர் தம்பி கவினுடன்.. வாழ்த்துக்கள்..” Kavin had said that Soori picked up Malayalam for the film by speaking to people at the location. The actor will be seen sporting a look similar to Prithviraj’s in Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
