Udhayanidhi’s ‘Article 15’ remake to begin soon

Producer turned actor Udhayanidhi Stalin, who was last seen in acclaimed director Mysskin’s ‘Psycho’, and is currently busy with the Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections, will next be seen in the Tamil remake of popular Hindi film ‘Article 15’, which had Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead. The latest reports are that the Tamil remake is all set to start soon by April end or in May 2021.

The Tamil remake would be directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, who made his directorial debut with ‘Kanaa’ in 2018. Produced by Boney Kapoor under his Bayview Projects along with Zee Studios and Raahul for Romeo Pictures, the film will have Udhayanidhi reprising Ayushmann’s role of a high-rank police officer who is posted to a rural area with caste divide problems.

‘Article 15’ revolved around Article 15 of the Constitution which prohibits any discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, and how its value has been forgotten in the Indian society. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film also starred Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and Isha Talwar in prominent roles.
